For tenants: what’s happening in your building
Many condo buildings were managed by SIREG Management. SIREG is now in a court insolvency process, and its manager licence was suspended on September 29. We are a volunteer group of the owners of units in these buildings.
- Owners are working to keep the basics on. That means heat, water, power and building insurance.
- Owners have asked the court for help. We have asked the court to appoint an independent administrator to run the buildings for now.
- About your rent. Keep paying rent only to someone who can show clear written authority for your unit. Don’t pay anyone who just shows up, calls or texts asking for money. If you are not sure, ask for it in writing first.
