AlixPartners Restructuring, Inc. is the Trustee. The first meeting of creditors is on November 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET, by Teams.

We want to be clear about who files which claims.

What the condominium corporations will claim

Counsel for the Administrator has confirmed it will file claims on behalf of the condominium corporations, for the benefit of owners. These claims cover common expenses that appear to be held in the commingled SIREG account. Owners don't need to file anything for these.

Examples of what the corporations' claims can cover:

What owners must claim themselves

The Administrator and the corporations will not file these for you. If you don't file, you can't share in any payout from the bankruptcy.

Examples of claims owners file themselves:

These examples aren't a complete list, and they aren't legal advice. Whether an amount is a valid claim, and how much, is between you, your lawyer and the Trustee.

Check whether you're on it and whether the amount matches your records. Being on the list doesn't replace filing your own claim.

How to file

The Trustee's notice includes a proof of claim form and a proxy form. Send your completed forms to TRS-CAD-Mandates@alixpartners.com. If you want to vote at the November 10 meeting, your proof of claim must reach the Trustee before the meeting starts. The Teams meeting details are in the Trustee's notice. We can't give legal advice on your individual claim, so speak to your own lawyer if you have questions.

Filing Form 31 (Proof of Claim)

The form in the Trustee's notice is called Form 31/36, Proof of Claim / Proxy. It's one 3 page form that does both jobs. The copy in the notice is made out for SIREG Management Inc. (Estate No. 32-3428714, Court No. 26-03429084-0032). The bankruptcy covers 16 companies, each with its own estate number. Your claim should be against the SIREG company that held your money, which your management or rental agreement should name. If that isn't SIREG Management Inc., or you aren't sure, ask the Trustee at TRS-CAD-Mandates@alixpartners.com which estate to claim against before you file.

  1. Your contact details (top of page 1). Fill in your address, email and phone. A mailing address is required.
  2. Who the creditor is. Write the name of the person or company SIREG owes the money to. If your unit is owned through a corporation, the corporation is the creditor and an officer fills in the form, giving their position or title (paragraph 1) and confirming they can bind the corporation.
  3. How much you're owed (paragraph 3). Write the amount SIREG owed you on the date of bankruptcy, October 20, 2026, after deducting anything you owe SIREG. Attach a statement of account marked Schedule "A" that adds up the amount and lists your supporting documents. Attach copies of those documents, for example your management or rental agreement, owner statements, the lease showing the tenant's deposit, bank records, and emails with SIREG.
  4. The history of the debt (paragraphs 4 and 5). Paragraph 4 confirms the debt isn't statute-barred. In paragraph 5, give the date payment became due, the date of the last payment, and the full details of the claim.
  5. The type of claim (paragraph 6). Check the box that fits. Box A is an unsecured claim. Under it, you check whether you claim a priority or not. The other boxes (lessor, secured, farmer, wage earner, pension plan, director, securities customer) are for special situations. If you think one of them applies to you, ask your lawyer.
  6. Whether you're related to SIREG (paragraph 7). Say whether you are related to SIREG and whether you dealt with it at arm's length.
  7. Payments you got from SIREG (paragraph 8). List any payments or credits you received from SIREG in the 3 months before the bankruptcy process started (12 months if you're related to SIREG). If there were none, say so.
  8. The proxy (page 1), only if needed. If someone else will attend the November 10 meeting and vote for you, name them as your proxyholder. If the creditor is a corporation, it attends through the person it names here.
  9. Sign and date (page 3). An individual signs on the "Individual Creditor" line, in front of a witness who signs on the "Witness" line. For a corporation, write the corporation's name and have the signing officer sign and print their name and title. The form warns that the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (s. 201(1)) has severe penalties for false claims.
  10. Send it. Email the signed form, Schedule "A" and your documents to TRS-CAD-Mandates@alixpartners.com. The form also gives the Trustee's mailing address: AlixPartners Restructuring, Inc., 220 Bay Street, Suite 1300, PO Box 20, Toronto ON M5J 2W4 (fax 416-932-6266). Keep a copy of everything you send.

Timing. To vote at the meeting on November 10 at 11:00 AM ET, your proof of claim (and proxy, if you're using one) must reach the Trustee before the meeting starts. The notice says creditors must prove their claims to receive any payout, and it doesn't set any other deadline. Don't wait.
